na-ed!

Claire has been pulling up her shirt, patting her belly and saying "na ed, na ed, na ed!"

?

I figured out what she was trying to say yesterday when I was changing. She walked in (when I was in my unmentionables) and came over to pet my bare leg. She said, "na ed, na ed, na ed!" and it dawned on me: she's saying "Naked, naked, naked!"

Have I been saying this to her and she picked it up or is she doing this on her own?!

Claire growing up...

She says "Thank you, Momma" and "Hi Dada!" and "Bite, bite, bite?" like she's begging for food. She's crazy! She does a squinted up fishy face when you ask her what a fish says. She barks right along with the dogs in our neighborhood and meows at the cats in her books. I truly can't get enough of her. She's a riot. We spend a lot of time right now trying to remember to tell Momma when she needs to "poo poo". Then if and when she does, she waves to it as if flushes down the toilet, "Bye bye, poo poo!" She knows how to pick up her toys...only to scatter them a few minutes later. Her two favorite toys are: a baby doll stroller my sister got her for Christmas---she spends hours pushing it around and then sits in it and expects someone else to push her around. I taught an hour lesson to two girls last night and she brought her stroller to them and while one was singing, she made the other push her around. When the students' switched, I found that the other one was pushing her around as well. It was a full HOUR of pushing that kid around in her baby doll stroller. I try and let her learn by experience, so telling her that she's too big for it does nothing. She will break it one day and that will be that. oh well. Her other favorite toy is a little car that she can ride on. Not the fancy ones that you can get in and out of, just some bench with wheels and a hand hold to push. It sings two songs over and over. "Do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man..." and "Twinkle, twinkle little star..." She pushes it places and then stands on it like a stool to reach things she's not supposed to touch. Nick and she have so many games, she just loves her dad.

itsallaboutlove...

My dear friends, David and Lora, are ready for children. Unfortunately, they can't have any of their own. Apparently adoption is better spread by word of mouth than by just waiting around. So, I wanted to advertise for them! All of you reading my wonderful blog get to click here to see their profile. That way, if you know of someone who is not able to care for their children and need some help, you can let them know of this wonderful couple.

thanks for reading!

sigh...

My new little fetus has made me pretty miserable. I'm not so good at being prego, but I'm trying to be. So far: three hospital visits and 20lbs lost. I feel like I should be on some sort of weight loss program, but gotta say, barfing up everything you eat (and everything you don't eat---bleh), isn't the best way to maintain health. I try and stay so busy that I don't remember to barf, it helps some days and not others.

Claire is having a blast with her daddy. She and he have developed a way to toss a ball. Basically, Nick stands at the bottom of the stairs and Claire throws things to him and he to her. I often find piles of things at the bottom of the stairs thanks to this arrangement. I guess practice makes perfect!

Claire is finally getting her eye teeth! She's been pretty crabby with these. Hope they come in fast!

Merry Christmas!

My baby is so sweet. When we (Nick and I) went to New Jersey for Nick's work, we left Claire with Grammy Krista (Nick's Mom). She had these photos taken and then gave them to us for Christmas to give out as Christmas cards. Guess what happened to them? We have NO IDEA! AGH! So, you have to get this version until we either find those that were lost or we make our own copies of these cute things. Sure love you all. Merry Christmas!

Historical significance of these photos: the reindeer was Nick's when he was a boy and the dress was Mandee's for her first Christmas. Cute, eh?

house part II

Some one asked for additional pics of our house. There isn't much more than you've seen, but here are the last rooms with the exception of Claire's room. I don't have a pic of that yet. And she's sleeping or I'd go grab one...he he

family room, great carpet, eh? (trying not to puke!)

All of these were taken by my lovely assistant Savvy, but in the "we just moved in TODAY" look, so this isn't the offical set up.

first bandaid...

Claire was in the garage 'helping' Daddy when she pushed on some very heavy driving ramps. Down she toppled and so did the ramps! She started to scream, and Dad picked her up. He held her close and kissed her "owie". Then checked to make sure everything was still 'working'. I hear all of this happen and come in to find Claire crying/whimpering and Nick saying:

"Your elbow is still working, your leg is still working, your toes are still working," etc. He says all this while bending each appendage to ensure mobility and attention to detail. te he. isn't he great?

All it really ended up happening was that C got really scared and a big scrape on her finger. But her Daddy kissed it better and put a bandaid on it.

Now she'll walk up to us and say: "owie" and put her hand to our mouths to kiss it better. Yesterday she even said "owie" and then kissed it herself. I love my baby!

young musician...

Whenever I am teaching, Claire stands by my legs and says, "Uhp, Uhp, Uhp,". If I actually pick her up (because the babysitter hasn't arrived yet or some other reason), she tries to play the piano, carefully selecting a group of notes and then pounding the daylights out of them. I guess she wants to be like Momma.
